"This summer, I’m working as a missionary at Life Teen’s Camp Hidden Lake, a Catholic summer camp in Dahlonega, Georgia, and my mission is to lead teens closer to Christ. Each week, youth groups from across the country come to camp and encounter God in small groups, ropes courses, daily Mass, lake time, dance parties, awesome speakers, praise and worship, and each other. I work in the kitchen and get to live out Jesus' command to Peter to "feed His lambs." My favorite thing to do is to give out extra desserts in exchange for campers telling me how they saw God that day. By being behind-the-scenes, Jesus is teaching me to be unseen and humble, to serve without expecting anything in return, to make insane amounts of pizza pucks and cookies for lunch, and to seek Him in the simple moments - in quiet Holy Hours, in beautiful clouds, in wildflowers, and in the smiles of teens when I give them extra churros. God has shown me that teens have hearts that are unfulfilled and yearning for something that the world can't provide - they want Jesus and He wants me to lead them to Him. Though my mission at camp ends in August, I know that my work for the Lord is unfinished. This summer, He's teaching me how to pray, serve, and love so that I can go out, evangelize on campus, and share Him with the Gator Nation and our sisterhood!" - Catherine Caldwell, Sigma Phi Lambda President '16-'17
